Around the lake

In Oshkosh we visit the near-lake neighbourhoods by Menominee Park, the streets around UW Oshkosh and the Sawdust District, the older homes along Algoma Boulevard and the newer developments on the west and north sides toward the EAA grounds and Wittman Regional Airport.

In Neenah and Menasha we cover the Riverside and Cold Spring areas, the streets off Wisconsin Avenue, and Doty Island — shared between the two cities, and a good example of why local knowledge matters when planning a route. Out west we schedule Omro, Winneconne and the Town of Algoma.

Lake living, later in life

Winnebago County has an unusually high share of long-term lakeside residents who intend to stay in the house they raised a family in. That is a good plan, and joint pain is the most common thing that puts it at risk. Treating a knee at home at the point where stairs start getting negotiated one at a time is a great deal cheaper — in every sense — than treating it after a fall.
