iovera° is an FDA-cleared system that uses controlled cold to temporarily interrupt nerve signaling. A fine probe is placed through numbed skin next to the nerve carrying your joint pain and that small zone is cooled, so the nerve stops transmitting the pain signal until it regenerates. It is not a steroid and not an opioid.

No. iovera° is a self-pay (cash-pay) treatment and is not billed to Medicare or to Medicare Advantage plans. iovera° is $895 per treatment, all inclusive, and HSA and FSA funds can be used.

There is no travel fee, no facility fee and no separate office-visit charge. Payment is due at the time of treatment. We publish the price because you deserve to know it before you call rather than after we have driven out.

Yes. iovera° is treatment of a diagnosed condition by a licensed clinician, which meets the IRS definition of a medical expense, so it is an eligible expense for a Health Savings Account or a Flexible Spending Account. We provide an itemized paid receipt showing the diagnosis and procedure codes, which is the substantiation your plan administrator asks for. Note that once you enroll in Medicare you can no longer contribute to an HSA, but money already in the account is still yours to spend on qualified medical expenses. Confirm the details with your plan administrator.

Mobile Therapeutics is enrolled and credentialed with Medicare Part B and with Medicare Advantage plans from UnitedHealthcare, Network Health and Humana. Injection services are billed to those plans; iovera° is self-pay.

A first visit for a single joint is typically 45 to 60 minutes door to door, including the examination, consent, treatment and aftercare instructions. Follow-up visits and repeat injections are often 20 to 30 minutes.

A landmark-guided injection is placed by feel; an ultrasound-guided injection is placed by sight, with the needle tip and the target visible in real time. Ultrasound guidance gives measurably higher placement accuracy than landmark-guided injection, which matters most for small or deep targets such as the hip, the sacroiliac joint or a tendon sheath.
